Facebook Sucks

September 29, 2007
tags:

I’ve added a new button to my sidebar to call attention to Facebook’s decision to ban images of babies being breastfed, while simultaneously allowing much more offensive content, including other pictures that show women’s breasts at least as much as the breastfeeding pictures show, as well as, apparently, other much more offensive and dangerous content. Here’s a link to the original photo that apparently set this off. Some people may not wish to see it, but it really doesn’t “show” anything.

If you’re interested in joining in a virtual protest, check out the postings at the League of Maternal Justice. If you’re no longer nursing, you can help by sending in your old breastfeeding photos. And everyone can help by spreading the word, or adding a button of your own. (On WordPress, you can add a button by putting the button code into a Text widget.)

I didn’t have a facebook account, so I made one just so I could deactivate it and tell them why. 😉

First off, looking at your blog, it appears that you certainly do have a facebook account.

I am hardly the only person telling it this way or upset about it. The protest group “Hey Facebook, breastfeeding is not obscene” had over 20,000 members as of yesterday.

Here are some other links to places telling the story in the same light as I am:

Return on Effort: Two of your statements are clearly untrue. And I have my doubts about the third.

I don’t doubt he has heard positive things. There are people who think breastfeeding is disgusting and ought to be hidden away, only done in private, etc. Those people probably have good things to say about facebook taking down these photos.

I’ve found out that Facebook recently kicked a woman off of Facebook, because she talked about breastfeeding her baby???

But, Facebook allow criminals, drug dealers & pedophiles to have Facebooks and they don’t delete them, why?

Yet, Facebook picked on this woman, for being the most important and most beautiful thing in the world…….a mother.

Pick on the weak and innocent why do you? Thats not America, thats not even Mexico, well Facebook picking on mothers is Anti-American, so you just made an enemy, Capt Wild Bill Kelso.
