While I was off being distracted by life this summer, Kara Hazen of Hazen Happenings and Mathman at When Will I Use This? had nice things to say about my Blog. Kara listed me among three “non-classmate” blogs she added to her RSS reader. Mathman even gave me my very first blog award, which is only slightly diminished by the fact that he gave it to everyone on his blogroll. 😉

Ramblings of a Math Mom 
yay!
i stumbled on your site while googling ‘math education gifted’. i’m a math major currently and i have a BA in education. i plan on teaching gifted (after getting my masters, of course).
i consider myself a math survivor! when i got my first degree, i had to take algebra 3 times just to pass. i’ve gone from that to being a math junkie! all it took was to get away from math classes. a couple of years ago, i was a bored stay at home mom- so i pulled out those old math textbooks and realised what lovely little puzzles math presents to us. that snowballed into me becoming a mathematics major- and an over-eager one at that (can you tell?).
i homeschooled my gifted children for a short while, and i’m supplementing their education at home. my third grader is fascinated with pascal’s triangles right now, she loves doing them- and yet she laments how much she ‘hates doing math’. 🙂 to her, pascal’s triangles are ‘games’, but math ‘class’ is work.
anyway, kudos on the blog- i’m enjoying it! learning new things as well, and even more excited to start teaching.
